Business Description

4by2 Training run small groups for up to five dogs and their Owners. Run over 6weeks, the course is designed so that you will gradually increase your own strength, fitness and flexibility and improve your dog's recall, sit, stay, paw, and learn a few other tricks along the way.

Once you have completed the beginners course, you will be invited to join one of our six week courses for more experienced dogs & their owners.

So, what happens during a class? Helen & Karen get you and your dog warmed up so that you are both mentally and physically ready to train. During the training sessions Helen and Karen are on hand to explain exercises and guide your and your best friend through each exercise. You will be given ample time to teach your dog what is needed and for you both to perform each exercise.

Business Staff & Management
Helen has an honours degree in Sports Science and a Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology. She also has BASES (British Association of Sport and Exercise Scientists) accreditation.

Add that academic knowledge to 11years of experience in the fitness industry training a wide range of clients, from elite athletes to those who have never exercised or are recovering from injury, and there isn't much that Helen hasn't come across at some point.

Helen believes that she can get the best out of people by motivating them through tried, tested, achievable and effective programmes that provide variety and elements of fun!

Her own sporting achievements are testament to her lifelong dedication to training. She competed to County level at hockey, tennis, swimming and archery as a junior and as a senior, has gained three World Titles in Kickboxing.

Helen adopted a gorgeous Staffie cross called Honey in August 2010, who was found stray near Watford and had spent two weeks in kennels before finding her new home with Helen and her Personal Training clients. When Helen first collected Honey, she was underwieght, shy and constantly looked worried, but she immediately showed her natural intelligence by learning quickly and slowly she came out of her shell to flourish into a strong, fit and confident dog who wins fans everywhere she goes (and does her bit to repair the reputation of Staffies).

Karen completed her training in 2000 with a Diploma in Pet Behaviour with COAPE (Centre of Applied Pet Ethology.) She then went on to become an Associate of Sarah Whitehead, a renowned expert in dog behaviour and one of the forerunners in early puppy training. For nine years Karen ran a branch of Alpha Puppy Classes before setting up independently as owner of The Best From Your Dog Training and Behaviour.

Karen is a member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers whose members are assessed and work to a strict code of conduct where punitive training methods are not permitted and trainers work with modern, kind but effective methods that reflect their role as family members.

She is also a Practitioner Member of CAPBT. The COAPE Association of Pet Behaviourists and Trainers, which is the largest specifically, qualified association for pet behaviourists and trainers in the UK. Membership offers all pet owners a guarantee of quality when seeking help with the treatment of behaviour problems, or in training your dog.

Karen believes each dog and owner is an individual, which is why her training is tailored to take that into account. Her aim is to inform and inspire owners how to clearly communicate with their dogs to build on mutual trust and respect. Karen’s style of teaching enables owners and their dogs to learn in a relaxed, informed way.

As well as her own classes Karen also run classes at The Vets on White Hart Lane in Barnes and has regularly given puppy presentations at other local vets.

Karen currently own two Pugs and live with her family in Hampton.
