Cancer Information and Support Services Cancer Information and Support Services (CISS) is a registered charity that was set up in May 1993 to help cancer sufferers in South West Wales in the United Kingdom. The first cancer information centre opened in Swansea, in West Glamorgan, in April 1994. The service was set up in response to the lack of support for cancer patients and carers and the availability of accurate up-to-date information about cancer in the West Glamorgan region at the time.
