Business Description

Chris Venables Pianos was founded in 1981 by Chris Venables, a Yamaha and Steinway & Sons trained piano technician, for sales and servicing of new and pre-owned upright pianos, baby grand pianos, grand pianos and concert grand pianos. As business expanded, Chris moved into bigger premises to display quality pianos over 2 floors and developed a nationwide tuner technician network to ensure his pianos and his customers would receive local service - anywhere in Britain.

In 2009 Chris and his Son (Will Venables) launched their own brand of piano "Venables & Son" to meet the demand for a moderately-priced piano with a particular tonal characteristic - warm, rounded and lyrical. There was no piano available within the low-mid price market and both Chris and Will's technical experience in the bespoke preparation of new pianos allowed them to commission a factory in China to produce these pianos using specially selected materials and components, in addition to the pianos being finished (precision regulation and voicing) to achieve their trademark performance. This piano range compliments the broad range of Yamaha pianos well - as the Venables & Son pianos have a distinctive tone that is very different from that of Yamaha. With piano selection being very much a matter of personal preference, having such a diverse range makes it easier to best match a piano to pianist.

Venables Pianos are the most experienced independent Yamaha piano dealer in the UK. Being one of the first dealers in the UK to be appointed an official Yamaha Grand Piano Centre and an official Yamaha Disklavier Piano Centre, Venables have been at the forefront of Yamaha Pianos in the UK.

Today, Venables Pianos remain a genuine family business, technician owned and run since 1981.

The Venables piano showroom displays a comprehensive range of Yamaha Pianos including: Yamaha Upright Pianos; Yamaha Baby Grand Pianos; Yamaha Grand Pianos; Yamaha Concert Grand Pianos including Yamaha Silent pianos and Yamaha Disklavier player pianos.

The house-brand "Venables & Son Pianos" are imported to and finished in Venables pianos' warehouse in Hampshire and displayed in the Venables piano showroom in Ringwood - including Venables & Son Upright Pianos; Venables & Son Baby Grand Pianos; Venables & Son Grand Pianos.
