Hopscotch Nursery at Bavant Road in Brighton was first registered in 1996 and is one of a chain of privately owned nurseries in the Sussex area. The child care is organised in a range of inter- connected rooms on the ground floor and children also have access to a secure outside play area. The setting is open from 08:00 to 17:30 five days a week and is registered to care for a maximum of 58 children aged from under one year to five years. There are currently 82 children on roll and, of these, 21 receive funding for nursery education. The setting is able to care for children with disabilities and children with English is an additional language. There is a staff team of 11 and most have appropriate childcare qualifications, with three staff members currently training.
