Business Description

The Organ Donation and Transplantation Directorate of NHS Blood and Transplant supports organ transplantation, providing donor organ matching and allocation services and recording heart, kidney, pancreas, liver, bowel, lung and cornea transplants on the National Transplant Database. Living donation has become more frequent with the implementation of the Human Tissue Act. NHS Blood and Transplant works closely with the HTA to facilitate the new paired-pooled and altruistic donation options.
